The History
of Nik
Nik and the Nice
Guys was formed by a group of hockey players at St. Lawrence University
in Canton, NY. Among them were NHL coach Mike Keenan and present
day Nik manager Gary Webb. The group disbanded upon graduation,
but re-formed in the 1980's in Rochester, NY when Keenan was coaching
the AHL Rochester Amerks.
Originally,
the recreated Nik was a means for daytime business professionals
to become nighttime party animals, raising funds for charity. With
continued success, however, the band has evolved into a full-time
professional organization.
Several other
bands have been added to the Nik Entertainment stable over the years
in response to the demand for specialized themes. Today the organization
boasts of a cadre of over 100 artists and event professionals who
are committed to providing the ultimate party experience.
