Marino Calls It Quits, Nik Keeps Playing
Miami (NikWire) - Dan Marino, after 17 record-laden years with the Miami Dolphins, announced his retirement from professional football this week. In doing so he gives up his long-standing dream of going back to the Super Bowl. He was last there early in his career for Super Bowl XIX in 1985. But he probably wants to forget that one after the Forty-Niners squished the Fish by a score of 38-16.

Contrast Marino's shattered dream with the performance of Nik and the Nice Guys. They have now been to 15 consecutive Super Bowls. While they have not yet matched Marino's longevity in serving the NFL, they are closing in fast and there is no end in sight. At this year's bash in Atlanta, the Nice Guys and sister-band Fever performed a total of eight gigs over four days. The highlight, of course, was NFL Properties' Super Bowl Eve Party at the Georgia Convention Center where they got the crowd rockin' with KC and the Sunshine Band. And the streak goes on.

Oh, by the way, St. Louis beat Tennessee by a score of XXIII-XVI.
